IHW Dinner: Celebrating Our Community's Inspiring Achievements, Honoring Wonderful Works of our Volunteers, Sharing a Heavenly Vision for Tomorrow and Rejecting the Hell of Hatred, War, Violence and Terrorism!

Islamic House of Wisdom celebrated its semi-annual dinner Saturday successfully, attracting hundreds of leaders, activists, ,interfaith, elected officials, political candidates and community members.

The attendance included Dearborn Heights City Council Chairman Bob Constant, Councilwoman Lisa Hicks Clayton, Dearborn City Councilman Mike Sareini, Representative of the Dearborn Police Department, Ambassador of Lebanon to Sweden Dr. Ali Ajami, Dr. Ned Fawaz, representative from the various nonprofit and religions institutions in the area and a host of journalists.

During the dinner Jeff Mallad, Bill Bazzi, Bob Constant and Lisa Hicks spoke about their vision for our community's future and the reasons they took the challenge of candidacy for the coming elections.
Summary of Imam Elahi's dinner speech!
Imam Elahi started his words with honoring the victims of recent natural disasters, the fire in CA, the flood in Florida and Texas, the domestic terrorist attacks in Las Vegas and also victims of war and terrorism in the Middle East and Africa and the latest isis attack on the Shia Mosque in Kabul.

Adding that in a world suffers from hellfire of hatred, death and destruction, it's humbling to address this heavenly audience and promote paradise in this world and hereafter rather than hell in both!!

Admiring the achievements of our community in the last few decades and the role of so many community leaders not only on the local but the international levels.

Mentioning some Quranic verses guiding the path to Paradise, Imam Elahi added, we can make a sample of that paradise on this planet if we work together to build our community based on education, ethics, patience, honesty, peace, justice, faith and family values.

Giving a short presentation on 22 years of IHW services to our youth from

facilitating the karate classes, girl's scouts, matrimonial services, brain storming seminars on social problems such as drugs, depression, suicide and mental disorder to standing against war, violence and terrorism of Isis and other evil groups.

IHW hosted the gathering of code of honor signature between the Shia and Sunni scholars, in addition to the code of honor between Muslim and Christian religious leaders.

IHW has been a voice of reason, responsibility and truth telling in any opportunity and especially through the media and social networks.
At the end Imam Elahi asked the guests who value the services of IHW to contribute to the programs and projects of this house of God!

The new Imam Hussein hall at IHW will be open soon; this is to facilitate more services to our interfaith partners and senior citizens!
