4-13-17: Muslim Mental Health Conference
Thank you Dr. Halim Naeem for another educational conference on Muslim Mental Health!
I spent big part of my today's time in Lansing, Capital of Michigan interacting with other imams, doctors and professionals discussing the best ways of dealing with the diseases such as depression, mental disorder, suicide and other social problems.
As Muslims, we all are responsible to interact effectively to help, protect and express empathy with the suffering members of our society.
Today's gathering was another important step in identifying the urgent community issues and find the best ways of helping those who are going through stressful experiences in their lives.
Every speaker recognized the role of committed imams and their spiritual support in providing peace and tranquility specially for those who suffer from mental issues.
To follow the resolutions of this annual conference, the Islamic House of Wisdom has been holding some follow up gatherings and discussions in the last couple of years.
