The closure of Lebanese public schools, a terrible tragedy for the young generation and the future of the region!

Dr. Ashraf Beydoun and a delegation from the US Amal Organization visited IHW and met with imam Elahi and members of IHW board.

Sayyed Khalil Hachem welcomed the guests and talked about educational, spiritual and social services of IHW.

Imam Elahi thanked the Lebanese MP Dr. Ashraf Beydoun and his delegation for their visitation and summarized the mission of IHW in 6 words: faith, education, justice, love, outreach and action!

He emphasized on the IHW’s interfaith work in fighting the ignorance of Islamophobia and also the food services of this institutions during the pandemic period.

Dr. Ashraf thanked the imam and the board and reflected on the role of dialogue among all religions and even the people without religion. Referring to Imam Ali(SA) statement , he emphasized on human brotherhood and saluted IHW for choosing dialogue as a great way of solving all social and political problems. Absence of dialogue means existence of war and destruction.

Dr. Ashraf expressed his deep concern about the closure of all public schools in Lebanon. He said without education, the other alternatives are poverty, crimes and misery of generations to come!

During this meeting hajja Nawal Hamadeh, as an educator briefly shared her schools experiences of the last three decades in the community and raised some questions about the causes of schools closure in Lebanon.

This visitation turned to an informative exchange of ideas , which blessed the meeting with so much knowledge and awareness. Ameen!
