The Council of Michigan Imams convened at IHW this morning.
During the initial phase of the meeting, Mr. Nasser Beydoun addressed the imams, elucidating the motivations behind his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in the upcoming elections.
Nasser raised awareness about the perceived interference of AIPAC in Michigan elections, highlighting their financial involvement against Rashida's campaign as a notable example. The imam council extends an invitation to other Senate candidates to present their visions.
Subsequently, the council delved into its monthly discussions, with a focus on the unprecedented human tragedy unfolding in Gaza. Some imams proposed organizing another press conference to disseminate additional information regarding the Israeli bloody invasion of Gaza.
The imam council expressed gratitude for the supportive gestures from the Pope, UN Secretary General, South Africa, and other international institutions, all of whom have demonstrated solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians.
Deeply concerned about conflicts in the South of Lebanon, bombardment in Yemen, Iraq, and Syria, the council emphasized that the root of these conflicts lies in the ongoing brutality in Gaza.
They called for an immediate ceasefire and the release of all Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.
