Baptist church canceled the 9-11 and 9-12 events!

Today, I had a nice conversation with Pastor Dr. Donald McKay!

This extremely controversial event which was opposed by many religious and political leaders as hateful and Islamophobic is canceled now!

Pastor McKay and I will meet soon to discuss a better communication and dialogue for the sake of love, unity and cooperation between Muslim and Christian communities!

I thanked Pastor McKay for canceling the event!

I stopped by at the church in Bloomfield yesterday, the pastor was not there but he kindly called me today, the conversation ended in a friendly and brotherly term.

He told me that he loved Muslims, he said he even loved those violent ( so-called) Muslims, I told him I don’t like violent people in any religion or culture.

He said he just disagreed with ideology! I told him i disagree with some of those ideologies too, but we need dialogue, since in the absence of conversation there might be confrontation!

I told pastor it’s ok to disagree but not ok to destroy each other, he said absolutely!

Pastor thanked me for going to his church and extending hands of friendship and understanding!

I told him I am ready to meet, have a lunch and deep prayer and talk together, in our house or our center, in your house or church. He said let’s do it soon as possible!

I wish we could do it tonight, so we could honor the memory of innocent victims of 9-11 on the eve of their anniversary, but unfortunately the schedules didn’t let that to happen tonight!
