Call for Justice and Compassion in Baptist Church of Pontiac!
Hundreds of interfaith leaders and partners attended a unique Sunday service in Pontiac Baptist Church this morning, while Ramadan, Lent and Passover coincide this year and a season of redemption has started for all Abrahamic traditions!
Pastor Keyon Payton the church leader energized the attendance with his unifying address.
Speakers included Detroit former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick who passionately shared his experiences from the time he was incarcerated .
Other speakers spoke about hope and the fact that many of those prisoners who got chance for redemption and were allowed to go back to the society, became big sources of contributions to their communities.
Imam Elahi addressed the church audience and spoke about justice as the main mission of the heavenly messengers such as Moses, Jesus and Mohammad(pbut)
Imam stated that our justice system though better than some other countries, yet far from being perfect. We have seen sometimes people in prisons for 3 decades for crimes such as murder, yet then freed and courts realized they had nothing to do with the crimes and were absolutely innocent
