Congratulations for what you accomplished in one month of being guests of God, in Ramadan’s reception, your reflection, recitation, resistance, in your journey for Taqwa or righteousness!
Ramadan was a heavenly program for purification of our souls.
A season of spiritual revolution and transformation, a testing time for Jihad al-akbar.
Eid is a graduation ceremony to celebrate our spiritual achievements.
This is why in our douas we ask Allah for good grades, for being accepted, and not rejected.
This is a celebration of submission to our Lord commandments which leads to the salvation of our souls.
According to the Words of God, the purpose of this practice was piety!
Piety means victory of willpower over wickedness!
Virtues over viruses!
Sacrifice over selfishness!
Responsibility over recklessness!
This is why the concept of Taqwa has 242 references in the Quran!
The Quran reminds us that Taqwa is a key to wisdom, compassion, peace and prosperity!
Taqwa is to shower the house of our hearts from any spiritual dust, dirt, disease, and contaminations!
After going through the experience of this holy month, we should feel the joy of both forgiveness and freedom!
In three nights of power, we repeated one doua 300 times!
سُبْحانَكَ يا لا اِلهَ اِلاّ اَنْتَ الْغَوْثَ الْغَوْثَ خَلِّصْنا مِنَ النّارِ يا رَبِّ
We asked the Lord of this world to liberate us from the hellfires of this world and hereafter!
We should recite this ritual also after Ramadan.
Don’t let our evil enemy, the Shaitan to invade our minds, hearts and souls again!
Let’s continue our fight for the freedom we achieved in this holy month.
It’s been said that on the day of Eid a companion of Imam Ali (as) visited him and got surprised of the simplicity of Imam’s dinner on such a feast day. He thought that the Fitr day was a food festival. The Imam told his friend that happiness of the Eid was not based on the color of foods but the credit of forgiveness !
عن النبي (ص) إن الشقي حق الشقي من خرج منه هذا الشهر ولم يغفر ذنوبه.
Our obvious enemy won’t give up, he will try to counterattack even after he was defeated in Ramadan.
He will try to occupy our character, our identity, our vision and virtues!
The promising entrances for the evil include:
Anger, arrogance, impatience, gossiping, greed, jealousy, hatred and racism.
Don’t give your enemy any chance to challenge your faith, fairness, intellect, and integrity!
One of the characteristics of night of power was peace. God is peace. The prophets came to promote peace among all the people.
Islamic House of Wisdom always stood against war, violence and terrorism!
We live in Detroit metropolitan. Sadly Detroit is one of the most violent cities in America.
Hundreds of people die in Detroit every year out of gun violence.
It’s not only Detroit, look at the pandemic of mass shooting and mass murdering in schools, universities, stadiums, night clubs, places of worship, birthday parties, farms, movies, malls, markets, daycares, etc.
Ramadan was an invitation to love, brotherhood, solidarity with the suffering societies, outreach to the poor, charity to the needy.
The pain and suffering of people in war zones, being in Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Sudan or Ukraine are so tragic and heartbreaking!
We are happy that Saudi Arabia is planning to end its war with Yemen, but any accountability for those 9 years a of death and destruction?
Any apology and asking for forgiveness?
Any compensation for making tens of millions of Yemenis hungry, homeless and dying?
Just few days ago , there was a place for foods destrebution in Sanaa, the poor people rushed to the place so desperately that 78 people died in the crowed.
The situation in Gaza, West Bank, Afghanistan and Syria is not much better than Yemen.
As a Muslim American who cares for the image and interests of this great nation, I ask our political leaders, specially the American foreign policy makers to think about international friendship more than international fighting.
Let’s learn from the lessons of Afghanestan.
After many years of proxy war with the former Soviet Union and later invasion of Afghanestan and losing thousands of American soldiers and spending trillions of dollars, we ended up with a huge victory for Taliban, isis and Alqaeda.
Is this our future victory in another proxy war with Russia in Ukraine?
My heart cries for the wounds of Ukrainians. Though we follow different faith traditions but we celebrate our human similarities. The Ukrainians don’t deserve this bloodshed, pain, humiliation and homelessness.
The Chinese politicians are not necessarily peace loving players, but they are smart enough to understand the best way to make busness in the world and to make more money is to act as friends and not fighters.
They are winning the hearts and minds of people in the Middle East, Asia and Africa through friendly projects not military attacks and invasion.
The late president Abraham Lincoln said”the best way to defeat an enemy is to make them your friend”
The same president said “ You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time , but you can’t fool all the people all the time”
This is something Netanyahu should understand, when he shamefully threatens Saudi Arabia for trying to make peace with Yemen or Iran. He thinks he can fool the Studies for ever, so they continue to waste their time, talent and treasure for wrong targets.
I am a loyal part of interfaith in America for the last 32 years, I never gave up my hope for the world peace, as a value in Islam, Christianity, Judaism and other true faith traditions.
We call and pray for peace in Sudan, where the corrupt generals who already sold the soul of their nation, are making this recent horrible bloodshed for the sake of their own personal business and greed for power and position!
I follow the the domestic and international crises with heartfelt concerns and continue to call for peace and rejection of warmongering, fear-mongering, war and violence!
Brothers and sisters!
Ramadan is over. Today we say goodbye to Ramadan but not goodbye to our mosques.
I am glad to see the powerful presence of our community youth in Ramadan services and I am asking you to keep coming to Friday prayers, daily congregational prayers, educational classes, workshops, youth of wisdom gatherings, women committee, Girl Scouts, marrage foundation seminars, snd Vulenteer works.
Again Eid Mubarak. May God accept and bless your acts of prayers, charities, kindness and compassion during this Holy Season.
We pray for the fast recovery of those who are sick, being in the houses or hospitals and ask for blessing of the soul of those who departed from this world during the Month of Ramadan and continue our prayers for peace in the world.
Amin, Amin, Amin.
