MMCC Interfaith Iftar Dinner at World Peace Association!
Imam Elahi thanked Dr. Hadidi the head of MMCC and the founder of Masjid Al-Noor for arranging such a beautiful Ramadan reception and addressed the political and interfaith leaders:
One of the most beautiful names of God in the Quran is Peace. God is Peace. The central sentence in Sermon on the Mount was “Blessed are the peacemakers”
Jesus’s prayer in the Quran, “Peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die and the day I am raised to life again.”
The most perfect path to peace is the path of love and friendship.
Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said “ The only way to enter Paradise is to be faithful, but you can’t be faithful if you are not friendly and loving”
Imam Elahi addressed Senator Gary Peters the head of the Senate Home Land Security Committee and stated, as for the sake of domestic security we need to replace the culture of hatred with a culture of love and friendship, we need to do the same in our international relations.
Imam emphasized that the peace negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia could had been initiated by the USA, instead of China.
If China understands that its long term interests are in making peace and friendship in the ME, where are we to show the same intellect and interests?
The imam asked the senator to use any available chance to contribute to the end of this painful and deadly war in Ukraine and bring peace and tranquility to tens of millions of innocent people who are paying the price of this bloody war.
The speakers of this interfaith Iftar included: senator Gary Peters, Dr. Mahmoud Hadidi, Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi, Rev. Greg Geiger, Rabbi Asher Lopatin, and Attorney Shereef Akeel
